Our mission is to create opportunities through exposure thus stimulating the wealth gap in Montbello and attacking those disparities within the community. COVID-19 has worsened this trend, a problem created by years of inequitable opportunities and infrastructure. Analytics support economic disparities in Montbello.
Our program name describes the basis of who we are:
Athletics - to fine tune basic fundamental and overall knowledge of the sport of choice.
& -There is more than being just an athlete.
Beyond - to encourage participants to strive for academic success, volunteerism, and plan for a career beyond playing sports.
The vision of A&B has is to retain and secure a consistent workforce to provide services for the community at large. Shrinking the wealth gap through direct hiring of community residents, partnering with resident ran nonprofits, patronizing small Black and Hispanic owned businesses, and independent contractors is contributing to the overall financial health of Montbello economy.
