At Athletics & Beyond, creating a safe environment for our youth is a major responsibility. Our staff recently completed Stop the Bleed training through UCHealth, gaining important skills that can help save a life during a serious bleeding emergency.

The training teaches participants how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action while emergency medical services are on the way. Staff learn important bleeding-control techniques, including applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and properly using a tourniquet.

For Athletics & Beyond, this training is especially valuable. Our staff works directly with young athletes during sports performance training, boxing, football, basketball, wrestling, fitness programs, mentoring activities, and community events. Injuries can happen anywhere, and being prepared allows our team to respond quickly during an emergency.

Completing Stop the Bleed training also supports our larger commitment to youth safety and staff preparedness. Coaches and staff members are often among the first adults available when an athlete is injured. Knowing what to do during those first critical minutes can make an important difference.

We appreciate UCHealth for providing education that helps organizations like Athletics & Beyond build safer and better-prepared communities.

Prepared Staff. Safer Youth. Stronger Community.
