NBA Champion Aaron Gordon Inspires Athletics & Beyond Youth

Athletics & Beyond had the privilege of welcoming Denver Nuggets standout and NBA champion Aaron Gordon for a special visit with our youth. Gordon spent time speaking with students about academics, career opportunities, maturity, and personal growth.

Gordon’s journey gives young athletes an example of what it takes to reach the highest level of sports. After a standout season at the University of Arizona, where he earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Pac-12 honors, Gordon was selected fourth overall in the 2014 NBA Draft.

He later joined the Denver Nuggets in 2021 and became an important part of Denver’s 2023 NBA championship team. His career has also grown beyond what happens on the basketball court. Gordon has spoken about gaining knowledge and passing it down to the next generation, making his visit especially meaningful for our students.

During his time at Athletics & Beyond, Gordon encouraged our youth to think about their futures beyond sports. The conversation focused on the importance of education, becoming mature young adults, exploring different careers, and making choices that can create opportunities later in life.

The visit ended with plenty of smiles as students had an opportunity to collect autographs and take photos with the Denver Nuggets star.

Experiences like this represent the heart of Athletics & Beyond. Sports can open the door, but our mission goes further. We want young people to understand the importance of education, career preparation, leadership, character, and relationships with positive role models.

Beyond the Sport. Opportunity Through Exposure.
