Team Colorado Invades the Southwest: Comes away with Championships & Trophies
_edited_edited.png)
Early April, the Team Colorado 7v7 program chose to go compete in an area that his known for tough football play and Texas did not disappoint. They really do it big as advertise and we knew that we would have our hands full. The purpose behind the visit was simple, take the team 793 miles from on to play against tough competition to build mental tough, activate work ethic, team building while bonding and exposure to oppotunity.
Accomodations
After a 12-hour ride on a luxury bus overnight, the team was ready to kick their feet up in the hotel rooms and just relax for the next day. Our parents greeted our players with boxes of pizza and beverages to fill their stomachs. Our parent volunteers have been very supportive if the programs and we are extremely appreciative of their generosity.

At the hotel, players participated in meetings with their coaches to discuss the gameplans. The kids took advantage of the amenities provided by the Holiday Inn Arlington. The swimming pool was a big hit with our 10- and 12-year old athletes. They played in the water for hours, jumping and splashing in the water.

Side Note, we actually recommend any team that travels to compete in the Arlington, Texas area to reach out to this particular hotel for stay. The staff was very accommodating with plenty to do around the area or inside the hotel.

Competition
The first day of the tournament took place at the professional stadium for being the home of the Dallas Cowboy an NFL team. Yes, the players were excited to touch the field and take pictures in front of the star. Their eyes were big, and they were amazed at the fact that they were going to compete on the same turf that CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs graced.
Even though the kids were in football heaven, they kept the focus and competed hard during the game. Would you believe that all four of our teams went undefeated on the first day and that was no easy task. Texas kids are fast an athletic, so we really had to be great with our fundamentals and execute which we did on all levels. It was a great team effort.

TCO 14u Student Athletes Are hitting their stride
We had a number of standouts on the 14u squad as they have improved each game since we started the season. Coach Cash and Coach Vince really have those guys playing their best football on the defensive side of the ball as of late. The offensive pass game is clicking as well under the guidance of Coach Aran. They started to hold those kids accountable and instilled some much-needed discipline, and now it's paying off.
When the season started, our organization considered the 14u group a project because there are so many unfamiliar faces that haven't played together in a game before. After a few team bonding efforts and some intense practices, things begin to look different.
More on this story coming soon with interviews from players and coaches.
