Athletics & Beyond Partners with Community Organizations to Create Safe Spaces for Youth

Following incidents of youth violence in Aurora, Athletics & Beyond joined forces with several community organizations to provide safe, positive environments for young people during Thanksgiving break. Working alongside the Struggle of Love Foundation, Families Against Violent Acts, McBride Impact, and the Montbello Organizing Committee, Athletics & Beyond opened its doors to teens seeking a safe place to learn, train, and connect with mentors.

The Athletics & Beyond Family Wellness Center offered free access to athletic training, boxing, basketball, baseball activities, weight training, and academic resources, giving students productive alternatives during school break.

The initiative focused on providing structure, support, and opportunities for personal growth while reinforcing the message that every young person deserves a safe and welcoming community.

Program Director Kyle Reese emphasized the importance of community leadership in supporting youth and creating environments where students can thrive. The event highlighted Athletics & Beyond's ongoing commitment to mentoring, education, wellness, and violence prevention by ensuring young people have access to positive opportunities both on and off the field.

For more than 20 years, Athletics & Beyond has remained dedicated to helping young people succeed through athletics, academics, mentoring, and life skills development—creating opportunity through exposure and providing a safe haven for youth and families throughout the Denver metro area.

UCHealth Healthy Swings Charity Event Supports Athletics & Beyond

Athletics & Beyond was honored to be selected as the beneficiary of UCHealth's Healthy Swings Charity Home Run Derby at Coors Field. The annual event brings together professional athletes, community leaders, media personalities, and supporters for a fun and impactful evening dedicated to giving back to Colorado youth.

Through ticket sales, sponsorships, and community support, proceeds from the event directly benefit Athletics & Beyond and our mission to empower young people through sports, mentorship, academic support, and leadership development.

The partnership helps provide opportunities for youth to build confidence, improve academic performance, develop life skills, and prepare for future success both on and off the field.

Healthy Swings highlights the power of community collaboration and demonstrates how organizations like UCHealth can create lasting impact by investing in local nonprofits that serve young people. The support generated through this event will help Athletics & Beyond continue expanding access to quality programs, mentoring relationships, wellness initiatives, and educational opportunities for youth throughout the Denver metro area.

We are grateful to UCHealth, the participating athletes, and everyone who attended and supported the event. Together, we are creating opportunities through exposure and helping young people reach their full potential. Read More
